Our Story

Canyon Blooms Petals for Patients was founded with the goal of bringing joy to those in our community who might be going through a difficult time. Dr. Kara Lolley was inspired to create “Petals for Patients” during the height of the Covid pandemic. She saw so much suffering and realized that she could bring a moment of joy to someone simply by giving the gift of flowers. “Flowers are a universal message of kindness. And the world needs more kindness right now.”

Canyon Blooms Petals for Patients was founded in memory of Kara’s dear friend Candace. Candace believed in the healing power of nature and of small gestures of generosity. When she came to the farm for her own end for life hospice care, Kara pledged to do something in her honor. This was the seed for Petals for Patients.

100% of the profits of our flower sales go to go to providing farm-fresh flowers to those in hospice, long-term nursing care facilities, women’s shelters, and other areas of need. We rely on the generosity of our donors, the community, and volunteers to make this happen! Your support means the world to us. Our Mission Statement

As a nonprofit flower farm we grow, arrange, and deliver flowers to hospice, memory care patients, homebound seniors, suicide prevention groups, domestic abuse shelters, cancer patients, those in long term care facilities, and others facing hardship. We partner with over 20 organizations in the valley serving these communities. By having nurses and counselors gift the flowers to those who are struggling, relationships are built that benefit both the recipients and their providers. The many volunteers who contribute to this project also benefit - from time planting and harvesting in the field, to arranging vases in the studio, or providing delivery services, the experience is rooted in fellowship. Together we are growing a stronger, more connected community. In 2024 we donated over 7,000 vases. Please join our effort to bring the grace and beauty of flowers to those struggling in Yakima Valley.
